What is in each guide

Five activities per guide. Each one takes fifteen minutes or less and needs nothing you do not already have at home: some coins, a few jars, a shopping trip you were making anyway. Every activity has the words to use, so you are not improvising an explanation of compound interest at the kitchen table.

Ages 6 to 9

• The Three Jars. Save, Spend, Give. Clear jars, not a piggy bank, because a six-year-old cannot picture a number going up but can absolutely see a jar filling.
• The Grocery Store Game. Two brands, one decision, their call.
• Earning It. Which jobs are paid, which are just being part of the family, and why the difference matters.
• The Waiting Game. Wanting something for two weeks before buying it, and what usually happens to the wanting.
• Coin Sorting. Recognising value when the biggest coin is not the most valuable.

Ages 10 to 12

• The Weekly Budget. A fixed amount, real choices, and the shortfall doing the teaching.
• Price Per Use. Why the expensive thing is sometimes the cheap one.
• The Advert Hunt. Spotting when something is designed to make them want it.
• Saving With a Deadline. Working backward from a price to a weekly amount.
• Digital Money. Why tapping a card still spends something real.

Who these are for

Parents, mostly, doing this at home in the gaps. They also work in a classroom or a homeschool co-op, and teachers are welcome to print them for a group. If you want a set of the book to go with them, the Schools and Libraries page has volume pricing from ten copies, purchase orders and a W-9.
